HEADTEACHER

Required for January 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter)

Lucton School, Leominster, Herefordshire, HR6 9PN.

Lucton School is a thriving, co-educational, independent day and boarding school set within idyllic Herefordshire countryside. Residing above the valley of the River Lugg, the School boasts magnificent views westwards to the Welsh hills and is a stone’s throw from the nearby towns of Ludlow and Leominster and the city of Hereford.

An “all-through” school in the purest sense of the term; we welcome children from Nursery to Sixth Form, with 350 pupils currently, building upon our 300 plus-year heritage and traditions to provide a stimulating and forward-looking environment for young people to flourish both academically and socially.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, engaging and inspirational leader with the vision and energy to further develop this busy, vibrant and popular school, fostering a dynamic and healthy school community with our pupils at the heart of everything they do.

An excellent remuneration package commensurate with the importance of the role and the experience of the successful candidate will be offered, to include on site accommodation.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of successful school leadership at a senior level, and will likely be a serving headteacher or highly accomplished deputy headteacher. The Governors place great emphasis on the School’s core values – providing an education that fosters curiosity and independence; equipping students with the confidence to navigate their own path and achieve their very best. The new headteacher will seek to promote these values relentlessly through their inspirational leadership and unquestionable integrity and character. The headteacher will be accountable to the Board of Trustees and has overall responsibility for the leadership of the school – academic, administrative and financial.

If you share the Governors’ vision to build upon the school’s legacy, and to play an instrumental role in taking Lucton School to the next level, we would welcome your application.
