About the Role and You
Contract type: Part-time, 2.5 days per week, Permanent
Salary: Dependent on experience
Start date: September 2026
As Teacher of Design & Technology, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, supporting pupils of varying abilities to achieve their full potential. You will foster creativity, innovation and technical understanding whilst maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching Design & Technology across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Planning and delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons
- Developing students’ creativity, innovation and practical workshop skills
- Preparing pupils for coursework, practical assessments and NEA requirements
- Differentiating learning to support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND and EAL learners
- Monitoring, assessing and reporting on pupil progress
- Maintaining a safe, organised and stimulating workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Contributing to enrichment activities, departmental development and the wider life of the school
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour standards for all pupils
The ideal candidate should:
- A good honours degree in Design & Technology or a related subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- The ability to teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4
- Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities
