A Level Results 2023

Staff and students at Lucton celebrated a wonderful set of A Level results this year and can be rightly proud of their achievements. After two years of dedicated hard work, there were many outstanding grades across all subjects. 33% of grades achieved were either A or A*, with 100% A in Physics, 60% A or A* in Maths, and 66% A or A* in Chemistry.

Amongst the many outstanding results were Hershel (A*, A, A), Maureen (A*, A, A), and Asylay (A*, A, C). Headmaster, David Bicker-Caarten, commented: “What a wonderful achievement for all of our Sixth Form leavers! It is clear that not only has Lucton produced academic results, but also well-rounded young men and women who are ready for the next step ahead.”

GCSE Results 2022

Collectively our GCSE students achieved above the national average.

Some of the highlights include 100% achieved 8-9 in ICT; 38% achieved 8-9 in Art; 57% achieved 7 or above in Chemistry (H); and 50% 7 or above in Geography.

Reflecting on the results, Mr Tyler said “It is great to see so many students perform so well, especially after all of the difficulties of studying through Covid over the last couple of years. Our students are a cohort and I congratulate them all on their results and wish them the very best for the future”.

A Level Results 2022

Congratulations to all of our Year 13 and Year 11 students for their 2022 exam results.

Our Sixth Form leavers achieved fantastic A Level results, with a third of grades awarded an A*/A and almost 60% being A*-B. Their hard work and dedication certainly paid off, with students heading to a wide range of universities, including Durham, Bristol and Bath.

Reflecting on the results, Mr Tyler said “It is great to see so many students perform so well, especially after all of the difficulties of studying through Covid over the last couple of years. Our students are a cohort and I congratulate them all on their results and wish them the very best for the future”.

GCSE Results 2021

Congratulations to our Year 11 pupils on an excellent set of GCSE results. Almost 40% of all entries were graded at 9-7, and well over half were at grade 9-6. At Lucton, we pride ourselves on helping each individual to achieve their full potential, and there were also many other successes beyond the top grades.

These results may not have been generated by the usual public examinations process, but our pupils deserve tremendous credit for them nonetheless. The grades were calculated on the basis of each pupil’s work over a two-year period, so they provide a fair reflection of their hard work throughout their GCSE studies.
Previous Headmaster, Jon Tyler, commented:
‘It has been great to see so many happy pupils picking up their results today and I congratulate them all for their achievements, especially after such a difficult year. I am very much looking forward to getting to know them when I take up my post next month as they enter the Sixth Form.’

A Level Results 2021

2021 has seen Lucton’s Year 13 students celebrate another year of excellent results with a 100% pass rate and almost 40% achieving A*-A grades.

Amongst the many excellent results, notable mentions include John (A*,A*,A*,B) and Will (A*,A,A) who plans on studying Biology at Warwick University. Head of Sixth Form, Michael Wolstenholme, commented “It is clear that the Lucton experience has produced well-rounded, polite and highly capable young men and women, ready to set out into the great unknown. Congratulations to all of our Year 13 students on a wonderful set of exam results; we wish them the very best in the future and will miss them greatly!”
