Year 7 & 8 Woodland Learning at Lucton
Over the past few weeks, our Year 7 and 8 pupils have been exploring ways to support declining bird populations as part of their woodland learning.
Last week, they became citizen scientists, taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch. Despite challenging weather conditions, pupils showed great enthusiasm and commitment to observing and recording local birdlife.
This week, creativity met sustainability as pupils designed and built bird feeders using recycled bottles, sticks and string, which have now been hung in the orchard.
Over the coming weeks, pupils will be monitoring bird activity, developing their observation skills while learning first-hand about conservation and biodiversity.
