Staff and students at Lucton are celebrating another excellent set of A-Level results and can be rightly proud of their achievements. This year, 33.3% of all grades were at A or A*, placing our students well above the national average.
Alongside their A-Levels, many students also completed the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with an impressive 50% achieving an A*.
Subject highlights included:
Art – 100% A grade
Modern Languages – 67% A*, 100% A*–C
Mathematics – 67% A*, and 100% A* in Further Mathematics
History – 50% A, 100% A–C
Many of our leavers are now progressing to some of the country’s most prestigious universities, including York and UCL, with a significant proportion securing places at Russell Group institutions.
Headmaster Andy Allman commented:
“We are incredibly proud of this year’s A-Level students. Their results reflect not only academic excellence, but also the resilience, ambition, and character they have shown throughout their Sixth Form journey.”
Staff and students at Lucton celebrated a wonderful set of A Level results this year and can be rightly proud of their achievements. After two years of dedicated hard work, there were many outstanding grades across all subjects. 33% of grades achieved were either A or A*, with 100% A in Physics, 60% A or A* in Maths, and 66% A or A* in Chemistry.
Amongst the many outstanding results were Hershel (A*, A, A), Maureen (A*, A, A), and Asylay (A*, A, C). Headmaster, David Bicker-Caarten, commented: “What a wonderful achievement for all of our Sixth Form leavers! It is clear that not only has Lucton produced academic results, but also well-rounded young men and women who are ready for the next step ahead.”
Collectively our GCSE students achieved above the national average.
Some of the highlights include 100% achieved 8-9 in ICT; 38% achieved 8-9 in Art; 57% achieved 7 or above in Chemistry (H); and 50% 7 or above in Geography.
Reflecting on the results, Mr Tyler said “It is great to see so many students perform so well, especially after all of the difficulties of studying through Covid over the last couple of years. Our students are a cohort and I congratulate them all on their results and wish them the very best for the future”.
Our Sixth Form leavers achieved fantastic A Level results, with a third of grades awarded an A*/A and almost 60% being A*-B. Their hard work and dedication certainly paid off, with students heading to a wide range of universities, including Durham, Bristol and Bath.

Congratulations to our Year 11 pupils on an excellent set of GCSE results. Almost 40% of all entries were graded at 9-7, and well over half were at grade 9-6. At Lucton, we pride ourselves on helping each individual to achieve their full potential, and there were also many other successes beyond the top grades.
2021 has seen Lucton’s Year 13 students celebrate another year of excellent results with a 100% pass rate and almost 40% achieving A*-A grades.
