Admissions

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. At Lucton, we want that process to feel personal, thoughtful and reassuring from the very beginning.

We welcome applications throughout the academic year, subject to suitability and the availability of places. While many pupils join us in September, we understand that families sometimes need to make important decisions about schooling sooner than expected.

At Lucton, families find a stable, welcoming day and boarding community from Nursery to Sixth Form, where every child is known, supported and encouraged to thrive. With a highly personalised approach to education, exceptional facilities across our 55-acre campus, and every standard met in our latest ISI inspection, we offer families both confidence and continuity.

The best way to experience Lucton is to visit us. A private tour allows families to see the school in action, explore our facilities, meet staff and pupils, and talk through what they are looking for in their child’s education.

Following a visit, prospective pupils will usually be invited to attend a Taster Day. This gives them the chance to experience a normal school day at Lucton, meet their peers and teachers, and allows us to ensure that Lucton is the right fit for them academically, socially and personally.

For most applicants, the admissions process includes:

  • Private visit or tour of the school
  • Taster Day (UK applicants only)
  • Online CAT4 assessment (Year 6 and above)
  • Review of the applicant’s current school report
  • Interview with the Headteacher

Offers are made following this process and are based on the suitability of the applicant and the availability of places.

Once an offer has been made, families are asked to complete a Registration Form and pay a non-refundable registration fee of £75 for UK applicants or £150 for international applicants.

To accept the offer, an Acceptance Form must then be returned together with a deposit of £500 for UK pupils or one term’s fees for international pupils. This deposit is held until the pupil leaves Lucton.
