Professional Coaching and Performance Team

Asa Hall – Director of Football

The academy is led by Asa Hall, a former professional footballer with over 600 senior appearances across the English Football League and National League.

Asa began his career within the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy before signing professionally with Birmingham City. He went on to represent England at U19 and U20 level and enjoyed a long professional career with clubs including Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town, Luton Town, and Torquay United.

As Director of Football at Lucton, Asa leads the academy programme and works closely with players to support their technical, tactical, and physical development. His role includes delivering the training programme, overseeing match preparation and analysis, and helping create progression opportunities for players into professional football, university scholarships, and the wider sporting industry.

He holds the UEFA B Coaching Licence.

Asa is supported by a dedicated football performance team, including:

George Collins – Assistant Football Coach

George Collins supports the delivery of the Lucton International Football Academy programme, working closely with the Director of Football across training, match preparation, and individual player development.

A former Torquay United youth player, George captained multiple age groups and was part of teams that achieved national and domestic success. He went on to earn a football scholarship in the United States, competing at a Top 25 NAIA university while continuing his coaching development.

George contributes to training delivery, performance analysis, and individual development programmes, and works alongside the academy’s sports science provision to support players’ physical progression.

He is currently completing his UEFA C Coaching Licence and is part of the Professional Football Scouts Association (PFSA) network, holding qualifications in Talent Identification, Opposition Analysis, and Technical Scouting. This work strengthens the academy’s connection to the wider football network and supports player progression opportunities.

Vai Ramesh – Lead Sport Scientist

Vai Ramesh leads the Strength and Conditioning and sport science provision for the Lucton International Football Academy.

He is responsible for physical testing and profiling, delivering gym and field-based performance programmes, and supporting player development through athlete monitoring, injury prevention, and rehabilitation support.

Vai holds a degree in Sports Science, Coaching and Physical Education from Loughborough University, along with a Masters in Strength and Conditioning from Loughborough, one of the world’s leading universities for sport.

He has experience working across professional, semi-professional, and university sport environments, and is committed to helping players develop the physical qualities required for high-level football while supporting their long-term athletic progression.
