International Admissions, Lucton School

International Admissions

Lucton School was founded in 1708 by John Pierrepont, a prominent London Vintner. The School is now an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged from 6 months to 18 years.  The School is a registered charity and is a member of the Independent Schools Association, the Independent Schools Council and the Boarding Schools Association.

Lucton School enjoys a beautiful, rural setting and exists to educate boys and girls in a caring community based on Christian moral values.  There are currently 350 pupils and each year we welcome increasing numbers into the Prep School and at all stages, but especially at ages 11, 13 and 16.

For many years, Lucton has had the benefit of an international student presence. Improvements in communications and travel in recent years have broadened the country base from which students are enrolled at Lucton.

Currently, international students make up around 15% of the total numbers at Lucton School. We believe that the ethos of the English Boarding School is enriched by the diversity;  overseas students are encouraged and expected to speak English as much as possible. The English and international students become great friends, leading to a greater understanding for all.

In our last Boarding House Inspection, Lucton was awarded "outstanding" for "equality and diversity".  We are justly proud of the way in which our overseas and British pupils integrate together so effectively.
