Welcome to Lucton School

Equipping students with the confidence to navigate their own path and achieve their very best

Lucton School is a thriving, co-educational, independent day and boarding school set within idyllic Herefordshire countryside. We build upon our 300-year heritage and traditions to provide a stimulating and forward-looking environment that provides an exciting setting for young people to flourish both academically and socially.

Dedicated and enthusiastic teachers are committed to developing the full potential of each student whether in the classroom, on the sports field, in music, drama or through the many extra-curricular activities that we offer. Small classes and a family atmosphere combined to create a warm and homely place in which students feel accepted, valued and secure.

There can be few more important decisions than that of your child’s education; it is an investment for life. At Lucton, we recognise the enormity of the trust you place in us, and our responsibility to build firm foundations, instil moral values and bring out the very best in your child.

School Life

Lucton is an all-through school in the purest sense of the word; with some joining us in the Nursery and leaving in the Sixth Form. However, regardless of where a student resides in the school, all will find a curriculum that is ambitious and challenging, an environment that is welcoming, and a culture of curiosity that runs throughout. With small classes and inspirational teachers, we equip students with the qualifications, confidence, and tenacity to succeed.

Extra Curricular

Lucton has a wide variety of extra curricular activities for students to take part in, including a comprehensive programme of trips and visits. In recent years these have included cultural and historical trips, museums, equestrian events, theatre trips, adventure days, and much more.

Equestrian

Lucton School Equestrian Centre is set within 13 acres of beautiful north Herefordshire countryside, with two all-weather outdoor arenas, and miles of off-road hacking. Our Equestrian Centre is run by Miss Coates, (BHSAI, SM, UKCC L2). Miss Coates is an experienced coach and county judge, regularly competing at the Horse of the Year Show on her home bred and produced show horses.

Boarding

Alongside our local day pupils, Lucton offers a variety of boarding options including full, weekly, and flexi boarding packages. Based in the heart of the school, we have both a junior and senior boarding house, both of which have a family feel. Boarders enjoy a fantastic range of weekend activities typically including cultural trips, theme parks, river rafting, go-karting, paintballing and much more.
