GCSE Results 2020
Lucton’s Year 11 pupils have achieved a fantastic 97% pass rate in their GCSEs with 87% of Year 11 attaining 5 or more passes including English and maths. Sciences did very well once again, with chemistry, biology, and physics amongst many subjects that achieved a 100% pass rate. We are delighted with the results and particularly pleased to see the sciences maintaining such a great record for the seventh year in a row.
Lucton’s top grades went to Felicity, who achieved 10 grade 9s and 1 grade 8. Even though it has been an exceptionally difficult year for the students, and there has been disappointment with the examination process, their accomplishments fully endorse Lucton’s ambition to enable every pupil to achieve their full potential.
A Level Results 2020
2020 has seen Lucton’s Year 13 pupils celebrate another year of excellent results. Joint Head, John Goode, praised the pupils, “I am absolutely delighted. Our pupils have worked so hard and can now look forward confidently to continuing in their chosen fields of study. Some have had grades reduced through the new standardisation process though even so, nearly 40% of results are A* and A grades and 80% achieved A* to C”.
A significant number of students achieved top A* and A grades with Jack achieving A*A*A B plus a distinction in Advanced Extended Mathematics. The following four pupils all achieved A*AA: Elsie- Medicine at Liverpool, Taylor-Gap year, before Veterinary Science, Daisy-Psychology, at Birmingham, and Oliver-Physics at Birmingham. With over 60% at A* to B grades, this represents excellent results from a mixed-ability group.
