Senior / Middle 10-16 years

The Senior School at Lucton comprises the Middle School from ages 10 to 13 and the seniors from ages 13-16, leading up to GCSEs.

The Middle and Senior School curriculum is broadly based on the National Curriculum.

Science is taught separately as Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Year 7, normally leading to qualification in three GCSE subjects in Year 11, although there is an option for pupils to take Science and Additional Science.

French and Spanish are taught as compulsory subjects in Years 7, 8 and 9 for the majority of pupils, with a small number taking extra English in place of a second foreign language.

ICT is taught as a specific subject in Years 7, 8 and 9 and its use is encouraged for coursework in other subjects.  Please see the ‘About Lucton School – Academic’  section for more detail on each of the subjects studied up to GCSE.
