New Equestrian Centre, Lucton School

New Equestrian Centre

Lucton School has its very own riding centre set in 13 acres of beautiful North Herefordshire countryside.

Pupils may keep their own pony at school.  In addition, we have a range of well-schooled horses and ponies to suit all needs.  Our staff are BHS qualified and registered.  Whether pupils are complete beginners, competent riders improving their dressage, jumping and competition skills, or training towards professional qualifications, we can help them improve their horsemanship in a friendly, encouraging and safe environment.

In addition to riding, pupils learn to take responsibility for the care of their horses.  Some combine working towards BTEC and GCSE qualifications in horse management & stable management with their other studies.  Our sixth formers have the opportunity to study for the BHS Assistant Instructors Certificate.

Riding and Road Safety

Mrs Goode is hoping to start a BHS riding and Road safety course in the very near future so if you want to do this which you also need for C+ onwards with the pony club , BHS stage 2, sign up with her asap! She is running it for the Riding Club and School so if you know anyone who would like to or needs to do the course book in now. Any one from outside is also welcome.
